Privacy notice
How we look after personal information, especially children's.
Nyamhuka Primary School (Stand No. 200, Nyamhuka 1, Nyanga) is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. We follow Zimbabwe's Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07]. This notice explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
What we collect and why
- Applications for a place: your child's name, date of birth, gender, previous school and any health or learning needs you tell us about; your name, relationship, phone, email and address; and any documents you upload (birth certificate, report, photo). We use this only to consider the application and to contact you about it.
- School visits: your name, phone, email and preferred time, to arrange the visit.
- Messages, pledges, volunteering and alumni sign-ups: the details you send, to reply and to follow up.
- Newsletter: your email address, to send the school newsletter.
We ask you to agree before you send an application. You can withdraw that agreement at any time by contacting the office.
Who sees it
Only school staff who need it: the school head and the admissions office for applications and visits, and the office for messages. We never sell personal information or share it for marketing. We share it only when the law requires, for example with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education when a child is enrolled.
How long we keep it
- Applications that do not lead to a place: deleted 12 months after the intake year begins.
- Applications that lead to enrolment: moved to the learner's school record.
- Visit bookings and messages: deleted after 12 months.
- Newsletter: until you ask us to remove you.
How we protect it
The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Uploaded documents are checked, stored privately (never on a public web address) and can only be opened by signed-in staff; every time one is opened it is recorded. Staff accounts have their own passwords and only the access their role needs.
Cookies and storage on your device
We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. The site stores only these items, in your browser:

Other websites
The map on the Contact page comes from OpenStreetMap and only loads if you allow it. Links to WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you or your child, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and you can object to how we use it. Contact the school office (nyamhukaprysch@gmail.com, +263 2098 544). If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Authority (POTRAZ).
