Our story
From a handful of classrooms in 1984 to a school of more than 1,500 learners.

Nyamhuka Primary School opened in 1984 with a handful of classrooms to serve the growing Nyamhuka community in Nyanga. From the start, families, teachers and local leaders worked side by side to build the school.
Growing together
Through the 1990s the school expanded with new classrooms, a library and later a computer lab, made possible by government support, community fundraising and local business partners. The School Development Committee (SDC) has been at the centre of that growth.
Today
Today Nyamhuka teaches more than 1,500 learners from ECD A to Grade 7, with a strong record in the Grade 7 examinations, sport, culture and agriculture.

Our people
Built by the community
From the first bricks to the latest solar panels, Nyamhuka has been built by people who care about it: parents giving their weekends, alumni sending books, and teachers who stay for decades.
I learned to read under the jacaranda tree by the office. Forty years on, my grandchildren are learning in the same classrooms, and the school is better than ever.
